The team here at Dorset Adventure Park is derived from a diverse range of places, backgrounds, experiences and interests, however, they all share (at least) one thing in common, and that’s a love for working in the great outdoors and sharing that passion and enthusiasm with our visitors.
Every member of the team who works on the water is a qualified lifeguard, so you can be sure you’re in safe hands whenever you visit the park. What you may not know is that we can also number a qualified outdoor instructor, a Muay Thai enthusiast, climbers, singers, musicians and motorcyclists among our team. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be running a series of posts focusing on the lives and passions of our staff, what drives them and of course, why they love working at Dorset Adventure Park!
First up in our series, we meet Mikey.

What is the funniest thing that’s happened to you while at work: Eating a huge box of sweets and getting a massive sugar rush whilst on the inflatables.
What is your most memorable day at work: Any day I get to hit the water with my bestie.
Do you prefer being red or yellow on the water and why: Red or Yellow ‘cause I’m coming for you no matter what colour I am.
Mikey is the park’s intrepid Assistant Manager and motorcycle enthusiast. Mikey lives in Weymouth and has been with us since 2016. In the past Mikey has spent time working as a lifeguard for the RNLI in Dorset and in Australia. He has also been a freelance outdoor instructor and gets to share his passion for the Purbecks and the surrounding area with groups of all ages and abilities.
A passionate motorcyclist, Mikey didn’t let something as insignificant as a crash in the summer deter him, and was straight back to work on his crutches. Equally popular with the kids who visit the park as he is with their mum’s, Mikey’s infectious energy and enthusiasm is legendary and rubs off on everyone he meets and works with, so let’s meet the man behind the myth that is Mikey.
